Nalanda Open University, Patna

Nalanda Open University is named after the famous Buddhist University of Nalanda and it was established in 1987 at Patna in Bihar state. There are total 28 study centres of Nalanda University in Bihar state. This university offers Bihari languages courses like Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi, etc. The short-term certificate courses are also available of duration 6-9 months. Nalanda Open University also offers degree courses at undergraduate level, post graduate level and degree courses.

The university is a member of The Association of Indian Universities and recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi and University Grant Commission(UGC). It is providing education through Distance and Open education.
