Veer Kunwar Singh University

Veer Kunwar Singh University is named after a most famous freedom fighter from Jagdispur Raja Kunwar Singh. The University was established in the year 1992. Th University is located in Ara district of Bihar. It is a public University. It is UGC recognized University but is not funded by UGC. The University is also the member of The Association of Indian Universities. The jurisdiction of the University extends in the western districts of Bihar like Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur and Rohtas.

The Chancellor of the University is Dr. G. N. Roy and Vice chancellor Mr. Deo Muni Prasad.The University has 20 University Post Graduate Departments, 17 Constituent Degree Colleges, three Law Colleges and 47 affiliated Degree Colleges.

Master of Arts degree in Economics, Geography, History, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Prakrit. The Under graduate courses are BSc in Arts, Science, Commerce and Education. The professional courses are Bachelor of Computer Application and Business Administration.

The University is located in an undeveloped area so it has helped in progress of the area. The University has helped the local students to receive quality education from the nearby University.
