Delhi University

Unlike other premier educational institutions, Delhi University or DU has a comparatively completely modest beginning. With only three colleges namely, St Stephens College, Hindu College and Ramjas College and 2 faculties (Science and Humanities) and a total number of 750 students, this Central University was established in 1922 by the Central Legislative of India.

Growing steadily over the last few decades, DU today proudly stands with its 2 20 000 students, 86 departments and 79 colleges corroborated by 14 faculties. With prolific expansion DU gradually metamorphosed into one of the best Indian Colleges with the Vice President of India as the Chancellor of the university.

The university offers a wide array of courses and timely state of the art infrastructure to execute and implement the same in an optimally effective manner. Technology courses like M Tech in Microwave Electronics, Electronics, Genetics, Plant Molecular Biology, Environmental Biology, are the most coveted ones however stringent admission test needs to be cleared first in order to take entry in this pedestal of Learning.

The college has multiple campuses to accommodate a fairly large number of students and is divided into South. East and West wings. East Campus specializes on Medical Science whereas the West Campus is dedicated to technology study and the South Campus is reserved for faculty of Arts and Social Science. The University has 15 large sized libraries apart from those in the colleges. The Science and Instrumentation Center of the University is reputed for highly sophisticated assortment of high precision research instruments.

Recent value add in terms of technology is the integration of north and south campus with fiber optic network. English, Hindi, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Political Science, History, Commerce and Mathematics are offered at a post graduation level. Apart from regular courses, MBA, MBE (Master of Business Economics), MFC (Master of Finance and Control), and MSC (Informatics) are also conducted successfully.

Clearing entrance test and subsequent group discussion followed by interview is a prerequisite to admission and different disciplines of learning has a different time for the admission test.
