Central University of Jharkhand

Central University Jharkhand is a newly formed University in state of Jharkhand. It is located at Brambe about 25 km away from the capital Ranchi. It is a temporary campus allotted by the state government before moving to permanent campus. The University is situated in greenery region receiving the natural and fresh breeze. The University came into existence under the Central Universities Act, 2009. Shrimati Pratibha Patel appointed Dr. Darlando T. Khathing, who is an internationally renowned scientist and a distinguished academic administrator, as its first Vice Chancellor of the University.

The University's infrastructure is building up rapidly. 60 pre-fabricated classrooms and 3 modern, air conditioned gyms for girls, boys and staff have been constructed. Research labs are being constructed.

The administrative members are Vice-Chancellor Prof. D.T. Khathing, Registrar Dr. Shyam Narain and Deputy Registrar Dr. Kalipada Mohanta. Officers on special duty for planning and projects are MR. Ankush Bhuyan and Mr.N.P. Garg respectively. The other supporting staff is Civil Engineer MR. Dinesh Kumar Dwivedi, Electrical Engineer Mr. Abhay Nikandan Tigga, Civil Engineer Ms. Sandhaya Kumari, Accounts Mr. T.R. Vijayan, Technical Assistant MR. Shekhar Kumar Lal and MR. Ajaenga H.K. PameI and others.

The university offers various courses at the undergraduate levels. The courses offered by the University are English, Mass Communication, Business Administration, Nanotechnology, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Life Sciences, Indigenous Cultural Studies and Water Engineering & Management. The cut off percentage in each subjects are almost 55%.

The university provides reservation for 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for Physically Challenged candidates. Sports person who had represented at International/ National or State levels will be given an extra weight age of 5% in marks when making the Merit List.

The University is the first University built in the state after its formation. The University is a gift to the people of Jharkhand from Central government.
