Nilamber Pitamber University

Nilamber-Pitamber University is a newly formed University of Jharkhand. It was founded on 17th of January, 2009 by the governor of Jharkhand Sri Syed Sibte Razi.the University came into existence under the provision of State legislation and Jharkhand State University Act, 2000. The University is located in Palamau district of Jharkhand. The aim of the University is to promotehigh quality education in undeveloped region of Palmau. The Palamau region has always lacked in receiving quality education. Students have to go to distant places for getting higher education. The University receives funds from the state government.

The infrastructure of the University has not fully ready but the design of the University is planned brilliantly. Works are being carried out day and night to complete in the infrastructure.

The University has reservation for schedule castes and schedule tribes. It has reservation for physically handicapped people. The university offers various courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

At present, there are four constituent college and eight affiliated college. The constituent colleges are G.L.A. College, Medininagar, J. S. College, Medininagar, Y.S.N.M. College, Medininagar and S.S.J.S.N. College, Garhwa. The affiliated colleges are S.P.D. College, Garhwa, G.N.S. Mahila College, Garhwa, B.S.M. College, Bhawnathpur, B.S. College, Latehar, M. K. College, Panki, A.K.S. College, Japla, Laxmi Chandravanshi College, Rehla, Palamu and B. N. College, Medininagar. The University has two engineering college, one dental college and two college of education under its jurisdiction. Some of the technical colleges of the University are Vananchal Dental College, Garhwa, R.C.C. Institute of Technology, Bishrampur, D.A.V. Institute of Engineering & Technology, Medininagar, Tetri Chandravanshi College of Education, Pindra, Garhwa and Shahdeo Chandravanshi College of Education, Bishrampur.
